Lisa Genova‘s “Still Alice” was a cracking book when it was first released. It tackled key themes and was a heartbreaking tale. Now, it looks like it’s making its way onto the big screen.
The film seems to be picking up pace too. It’s been confirmed via Screen daily that Kristen Stewart has joined alongside Alec Baldwin, Kate Bosworth and Julianne Moore in the Memento Films production.
Moore will play Alice, a fifty year old woman who discovers she has Alzheimer’s. Stewart will play Lydia, her youngest daughter, who has to deal with the tragic fact that her mom will no doubt forget her.
The adaptation of the bestselling novel will be co-directed by directors Richard Glatzer and Wash Westmoreland. Production is due to get underway in early March in New York City.
Kristen Stewart is famous for the “Twilight” franchise, “Snow White and the Huntsman” and “Adventureland.” This month she premiered “Camp X-Ray” at Sundance and also has “Sils Maria” with Juliette Binoche awaiting release. Coming up, she’s attached to Drake Doremus’ “Equals” with Nicholas Hoult and an “Adventureland” reunion with Jesse Eisenberg on action comedy “American Ultra.”
