Indie mainstay Brady Corbet is ready to step behind the camera for his feature directorial debut, and he’s cast Robert Pattinson, Juliette Binoche and Tim Roth to star in political drama “The Childhood of a Leader,” according to Variety.

The film is vaguely described as the story of the childhood of a post-WWI leader, and is tentatively scheduled to begin filming in Europe in May. Corbet co-wrote the script with Mona Fastvold. Corbet previously made a short film called “Protect You + Me” (which can be seen in its entirety here). The film took home an Honorable Mention at Sundance 2009.

Corbet is also not so new to writing, having co-written last year’s Sundance drama “Simon Killer” as well as starred in it. He also starred opposite Elizabeth Olsen in “Martha Marcy May Marlene” and opposite Kirsten Dunst in “Menlancholia.” He recently wrapped Noah Baumbach’s “While We’re Young” with Amanda Seyfried as well as Pablo Escobar biopic “Paradise Lost” with Josh Hutcherson and Benicio Del Toro.

Pattinson, of “Twilight” fame, recently wrapped David Cronenberg’s “Maps to the Stars.” He is also attached to Werner Herzog’s “Queen of the Desert,” Iraq War drama “Mission: Blacklist”, “The Lost City of Z” with Benedict Cumberbatch and Anton Corbijn’s “Life” opposite Dane DeHaan.
