Dane DeHaan is set to portray a Hollywood icon in his next film, with Robert Pattinson as a photographer documenting him in “Life,” according to Screen Daily.

DeHaan will play James Dean and Pattinson photographer Dennis Stock in the film to be directed by Anton Corbijn. “Life” follows the friendship between the two men that developed after Stock was commissioned to photograph Dean on a road trip for a feature in Life magazine. Luke Davies wrote the screenplay and filming in Canada is set to begin February 2014 (which should put some “Star Wars” rumors regarding DeHaan to rest).

Pattinson is currently shooting David Cronenberg’s “Maps to the Stars” opposite Mia Wasikowska, which is a reunion for the actor and director after they made last year’s “Cosmopolis” together. He’s also attached to Werner Herzog’s “Queen of the Desert”, Iraq War drama “Mission: Blacklist” and thriller “Hold On To Me” opposite Carey Mulligan.

DeHaan is gearing up to screen three films at the Toronto Film Fest, Sundance hit “Kill Your Darlings,” West Memphis Three dramatization “The Devil’s Knot” and 3D concert film “Metallica: Through the Never.” He was most recently seen in Derek Cianfrance’s “The Place Beyond the Pines” and just wrapped up playing Harry Osborn in “The Amazing Spider-Man 2.”
