Anna Kendrick has had to drop out of Zach Braff’s kickstarter project “Wish I Was Here” due to scheduling conflicts, but former “Twilight” co-star Ashley Greene has jumped on board instead.
Multi-hypenate Braff announced the project, which will be his second directorial feature after the 2004 indie hit “Garden State“, back in April. The film will follow Braff’s Aidan Bloom, a struggling actor, father and husband, who is still trying to find his identity in his mid-thirties and so spends his days fantasizing about being the futuristic Space-Knight he’d always dreamed he’d one day be. The project hit its $2 million goal in three days and Braff soon had a host of actors attached, including Mandy Patinkin, Kate Hudson (as Aiden’s wife), Donald Faison and Jim Parsons.
The Wrap reports Greene will play a young woman who is into Cosplay and who Braff’s brother, played by Josh Gad, becomes smitten with. Braff described Greene as “beautiful, talented and funny”.
Greene who shot to worldwide fame as Alice Cullen in “The Twilight Saga” will go punk in the soon-to-be-released biopic “CBGB” and will take a turn for the dark side in horror pic “Random”, which also stars Lucas Till and Haley Bennett.
