There’s finally been confirmation that Kellan Lutz and Malin Akerman are indeed reprising their roles on Lisa Kudrow’s quiet but cult comedy “The Comeback.”

Premiering for a limited series in the fall, the aptly named show was a 2006 comedy about Valerie Cherish (Kudrow), a former TV star who was trying to get back into the limelight by having her personal and professional life taped for a reality show. Filmed in the style of reality television raw footage, it showed Valerie working on a new sitcom called “Room and Bored.” Starring in the fictional sitcom were characters played by Lutz and Akerman, so they regularly recurred on “The Comeback.”

Deadline mentions some “juggling” had to be done to ensure the two actors could make the schedule, since they’ve both made names for themselves since the show aired and are busy with new projects. Neither Lutz nor Akerman will appear on all six episodes, but it’s reported that their characters Chris and Juna will be romantically linked.

After “The Comeback” Lutz had a recurring role on “90210″ and was later best known from his stint in the “Twilight” franchise. Most recently Lutz starred in “The Legend of Hercules” as the Greek god himself and will next appear in the upcoming “Expendables 3″ as well as voice the leading protagonist in the animated “Guardians of Luna.” Akerman made a name for herself with roles in “27 Dresses” and “Couples Retreat,” and most recently starred on ABC’s “Trophy Wife.” She has a number of upcoming projects including “The Final Girls” alongside Nina Dobrev.
